Falling Mortgage Rates Spur Rebound in Refinance Activity

For the moment, at least, mortgage rates appear to be headed back down. Mortgage rates fell last week to 5.05% on 30-year fixed rate mortgages, down from 5.34% in the previous week, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association. That helped to boost refinance activity by 18%.
